As a child, I always enjoyed dropping coins into a piggie bank. This material allows the child to experience the same concept, however simultaneously gain relevant math concepts while also doing so in a fun and engaging manner. All it took were square shaped manipulatives, a recycled box, self correcting colored squares and velcro.
